We often get asked how much a new roof costs, and our answer is always the same – it depends on its surface area, the type of products needed, the location of the roof and the type of fittings needed.
There is no such thing as standard pricing in the roofing industry, as everybody’s needs are unique. Our quotes for new roofs can only be given after we inspect where the new roof will sit and assess the scale of the job. The good news though is that we offer free no obligation quotes for our work, to help you to make the right decision.
How roofing quotes are made
When we visit your property, we will assess its needs. We will perform a thorough survey of the roof area and create a plan of action. This will include recommended materials, the cost of those materials based on the quantity needed and how long the job will likely take. At this stage, we should have everything we need to give you a quote on the spot. Sometimes we need to check the latest prices for materials though, to give you the best price. If so, we will contact you as soon as possible and provide you with your no obligation quote.
If you have an idea for your roof, such as a new material like aluminium or carbon fibre, we can cater to your requirements. The vast majority of roofs we install are slate or tiled but we are experienced designing and installing a wide range of roofs. It’s best to let us know before we perform our assessment of your ideas so that we can factor this into your quote.
Is there any room for negotiation with prices?
When we quote for a new roof we always aim to meet the needs of our customers in a cost-effective way. We don’t rip our customers off and we never charge extortionate rates for the most basic of things like nails and hooks. You will get a full breakdown of the costs before work commences so that you know where your money is being spent.
Because we keep our customer’s costs to a minimum, we don’t usually negotiate with regards to price. But we do sometimes match genuine quotes from other companies in the local area for like-for-like work. We’re a business, after all, so we’re happy to work with you to create a new roof that’s within your budget.
