We are a family run business with over 30 years experience in the roofing industry. We provide a personal, professional service in the Leeds area.

How often should I inspect my roof?

We advise that the roof is inspected every year before winter arrives. In the interest of safety we advise that you initially carry out inspections from ground level. Use a camera with a good zoom if you would like to inspect further. If you believe a detailed inspection is required please do not hesitate in contacting Roundhay Roofing.

What should I look for when inspecting my roof?

Look for missing or slipped tiles. Check for gaps in the mortar on ridges. Check flashings around chimneys or roof penetrations.

Can moss cause leaks?

Unfortunately yes it can.  Roofs are designed to channel water down the roof and into the gutters.  If there is too much moss on the roof it can restrict the water flow and eventually cause leaks.  A heavy build-up of moss should be removed and the roof treated to prevent re-growth.

What is the best roof system for my flat roof?

There are a variety of roof systems that can be used for a flat roof. It’s important to note that even by using the best materials, your roof system can still be installed incorrectly. Good workmanship and attention to detail are just as important as material selection. You should also take in to account the maintenance of the roof system. It is best to speak to an expert and find out what options are available to suit your requirements.

How much does a new roof cost?

The cost of a new roof depends upon a variety of factors such as size, type of product, location, fittings and accessories. We can visit your home and provide a full written quotation for the best roofing solution.

Do I need to fully replace my leaking roof?

In most cases we can repair a roof without needing to fully replace it. The cause of your leaking roof may actually be down to something quite simple such as a damaged tile or slight deterioration within the lead work.

My fascias and soffits don’t look in great condition, what should I do?

It’s very common for our old wooden fascias and soffits to be letting down the look of our property. A great solution is to replace these with uPVC alternatives which can be much more resilient to all types of weather conditions.

How long will my new roof last?

The lifespan of your roof will depend on the type of roofing system that you have opted for. However, we do provide a range of guarantees up to 15 years.

I am re-roofing more than 50% of my roof, do I need to call building control?

Yes, you must apply for a building notice at least 48 hours before the work is carried out and arrange for a local inspector to visit the site.

Do you have the correct roofing accreditations?

Yes, Roundhay Roofing make a priority of achieving the best roofing accreditations that are available to ensure that our quality of work is to the highest standard. Our accreditations include FMB, NFRC and Trust Mark.
